Site Updates

(02/18/09) Last night at 11:59pm in the US about 431 broadcast stations went digital clearing the analog airways. There are still many stations across the nation that are waiting for the delay transition date of June 12th. This is a large transition that is making people's TV viewing experience not so fun. A lot of the older folks are having a hard time understanding this transition and buy converter boxes when they don't need it or not buy them when they do. All the information about the transition can be found at the DTV web site.

(02/03/09) The transition from OutkastMedia to CrossVisum takes another step by changing the layout of the web site. We are also in the process of constructing a new skin for the forums. Some changes will be happening quickly while others will take some time and effort from both the members and visitors.

Another thing that's going on is the attempt to get the Signature of the Week contest back on track. There are a ton of artist out there and we want to expose them no matter their level of their art.

(01/28/09) So after a while of absolutely no activity from members or admin. The OKM team is reforming and changing a lot of things around here. We are crossing over to a new name and domain of CrossVisum.com. The name change will soon usher in new forums, a new site and new staffing.

The forums have already gone through some changes. Inactive sections have been removed for now until interest in those areas have increased. A cool arcade has been added, which gives a variety of flash games and enables us to have tournaments with these games. The shoutbox has also been brought back for quick chat between members.

(08/02/08) Well now that the OKM staff is starting to get back on track after most have gone away on vacation and other summer activities. So due to this unexpected inactivity influx please excuse the mess as we try and pick up the pieces and get things rolling again.

(06/12/08) There is a logo request for an official OKM logo. An offer of up to 5000 OKM points(That's right 5000 POINTS!) is being made. For more info please click here.

Summer is upon most of us and that means kids are either about to get out of school or already are. Which means summer fun. So if you are traveling this summer don't forget to take pictures along the way and then post them in our photo section.

Also to go along with that Cav one of the head admin will be visiting China on the 24th of June to the 10th of July. Along the way he will post what's going on in that part of the world. Either during the trip or when he comes back. So look forward to a lot of info and a lot of pictures of China in the up coming month or two.

The Signature of the Week contest continues onto it's 14th week and so far only one non-OKM staff member has won in those 13 weeks. This weeks theme is Futuristic, so please come and show the staff members up, it's getting quite boring with the same people winning week after week.

The Large Art of the Fort Night contest is just finishing up it's 1st theme, with very few entries. The deadline for entries is tomorrow, but don't forget to vote and/or entry in the nest LATFN.

Thanks to a recent burst in name changes. A new policy to go about getting a name change on the forums has been put in place. For more info click here.

We are still looking to generate more interest in our other sections like renders, photography, videos, music, web design and games. So if you know something about it or want to know something about it, just dive right in. It needs to start somewhere.

(05/29/08) The Large Art of the Fort Night contest is just about to start up. This is a contest held once every two weeks where everyone can enter their digital art, photography or an illustration.

Due to the lack of interest the Video of the Month contest has been removed. This is not permanent, if more interest in this arises then we will gladly bring it back, but until then we will set our focus on more popular contest.

(05/15/08) There is a delay in the creation of the render and wallpaper gallery. The site maker has been having some issues with his computer and is in the process of reinstalling the needed programs to update the site.

The Video of the Month contest has yet to receive any interest so far which is kind of a disappointment. So to maybe encourage our members to bust out a video to enter in the contest, we are offering a 1000 point prize for the winner and a 500 point prize for the runner up (only if more there are more than 2 entries).

The Signature of the Week contest is on its 10th week. This weeks theme is freestyle. Unfortunately the deadline for entering was today, but have no fear, you can enter next week, after the winner has been selected and the new theme is set. Don't forget that this is a awesome way to earn OKM points.

(05/06/08) The Video of the Month contest was kicked off on May 1st.
We kicked it off with a pretty open-ended project, so any movie makers, feel free to join in, you don't have to be a Pro to make a good video.

The Signature of the Week contest is on its 9th week. The theme this week is Celebs/Hollywood. Due date for entries is Thursday May 8th. FallenSoul, FFS and Cav have been the only winners so far, so if anyone thinks they can stop this pattern, it would be a nice change in pace.

On a more off topic subject. Zeiro has started a poll wondering about peoples' favorite soda. So go and see where your favorite soda ranks among the rest. Go to Topic

We still lack of some good writers, so if anyone is interested, please contact Cav or any of the other admin and we can get you setup.

In the next few weeks the start of a render and wallpaper gallery will take shape here on the site. It won't be large at 1st, but OKM members are working around the clock produce more and more.

GTA IV inside review :
(04/27/08)

Okay, well thanks to our inside source, we have got an exclusive look into this new game which is to be release this Tuesday in the U.S. (unsure about everywhere else) Due to legal matters I cannot reveal, who, what, when, how or why our source was able to get a sneak peak a couple days before release, but I can say that our inside source tells us that the new GTA puts the other ones to shame. Though there was limited viewing time to this game, our source was able to point out a few changes. For one the HUD has changed a lot compared to what most are use to seeing in the GTA games. The radar did increase in size and going around it is your health meter. Your money is no longer displayed on the HUD as far as our source could tell and the warning stars have been replaced by a red flash on the radar. As far as the graphics go, they aren't the best, but GTA has never really been known for it's killer graphics. Also our source noted that the controls changed a little from the other GTA games.

Well this isn't the best and most detailed review of a game, but it was kind of neat having this inside view.
